Tasmania Whisky Tasting Experiences

Probably one of the largest collections of single malts in Australia…

The Library Bar in The Lodge boasts more than 155 fine malt whiskys from around the world and a ‘virgin broach bonus’ - the explanation of which will have to await your arrival.

The Highlander Restaurant and Bar features fifteen malts, which are frequently swapped with malts from the Lodge and a unique Tasmanian menu.

Whisky Tasting

Whisky Tasting is available at $55 per person. If you would like to participate, please book with reception when booking your accommodation.

This is a truly great opportunity for all those with a taste for malt. We offer 6 tastes of whisky from across the world, and a tutorial which takes about an hour - even longer if your tongue loosens on that 3rd dram at 60%. The Tarraleah whisky collection is constantly changing so it will take more than one tasting to work your way through the collection. If you’re very lucky you may even meet the mad kilted Scotsman!

The Highlander Restaurant and Bar also has a sampling of single malts available for purchase across the bar.

Also available by special booking, is our all Tasmanian tasting, featuring six malt whiskys all from this little island. Tasmania makes the most (and best) whiskies of any Australian state and soon you'll be able to taste why for yourself.
