We understand that children on holiday are both an activity and an adventure.

Although there are dvds for hire in the Highland Store and there is also internet access on the site, Tarraleah is not the place to bring children who are unable to part with their gameboy or Xbox.

Tarraleah is the place for children to run themselves into exhaustion, see amazing wildlife in the wilderness and discover a lifelong fascination for nature. Let our guides help your children see and understand everything the Tasmanian wild has to offer.

Small guests love to feed the Highland cattle, accompany staff on weather reading duties and assist carrying fodder to the animals in our sheltered enclosure. The evening spot light tour is also a must.

There is plenty of room to run around and there are complimentary balls and the odd board game available at ‘Adventure Tarraleah’.

Cots are available in all accommodation free of charge and both Teez Café and The Highlander Arms have well thought out and reasonably priced child menus.
